Mompreneur now that is a fun name! I really never expected being a new mom to be so difficult. But being a mompreneur takes motherhood to whole new level.
The definition of a entrepreneur is, "A person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so."
The definition of being a good mom is, "A mother is a selfless, loving human who must sacrifice many of their wants and needs for the wants and needs of their children. A mother who works hard to make sure their child is equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make it as a competent human being."
Wow that is some heavy stuff. Sacrificing ones own wants & needs, all the while taking on great financial risk! This is why we deserve the cool title of mompreneur.
My sweet baby girl Cayley just turned a year old. She has spent almost every day with me since the day she was born. See when we moved to Lake Tahoe I wasn't aware that in order to find childcare you have to get on a waiting list even before you become pregnant. We are still waiting for our local daycares to open a spot for her. I try and remind myself every day that we are saving money, however, mommy really needs a break.
In all honesty motherhood is so much tougher than I could have ever imagined. Everyone warns you but until you are living it you just can't even begin to relate.
I was feeling kind of sorry for myself recently, which just sucks when this is supposed to be the happiest time of my life. Then I watched Ali Wong's Netflix special. No one really sums what I am going through better than her! If you haven't seen her Netflix special you really must check it out. I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Here is a quick summary! 10 Hilarious truths from her Netflix special!
From what delivering a baby is really like, to the pain of nursing, family/life balance, saggy breasts, to maternity leave needs and body changes, she touches on it all, yet in a funny lighthearted way.
It's actually pretty funny after spending the last 5 years and over $100,000 to develop a sports bra for busty women that after nursing my breasts shrunk 2 sizes. I went from a 34F to a 34D. Can anyone of you relate?
I hope those of you reading this post enjoy the netflix special above. Give us a shout out on social if you are also a momprenuer or or have breast support problems! We are here to help!
