People ask me all the time how in the world does one go about patenting a product? My honest answer is find a sought after patent attorney. 

Most importantly before going about patenting idea I would highly recommend figuring how you will make the product first.  Without a prototype you can sell or license patents generally are worth nothing.

You will also want to do prior art searches!  I spent a whole week looking at what was out there before taking the leap and continued to search all the time.

I feel very fortunate to have been introduced to my lawyer Matt Dicke who from the beginning has helped me navigate the intense and expensive world of patents and ultimately lead me to being granted 3 utility patents and 1 design!
